I am often asked about flashcards for the CFP exam and if they are helpful in preparing for the CFP exam.
The short answer is ABSOLUTELY! Regardless of your learning style, flashcards are very helpful in building your foundation of knowledge. Flashcards help you to memorize/learn key terms, concepts, facts, figures and mnemonics. Whether you’re making your own or purchasing pre-made CFP exam flashcards, they are a must for any successful study plan.
Most of us are visual learners, which means we learn best by reading or seeing. Studies show that about 65 percent of us are visual learners; 30 percent are auditory and 5 percent are tactile learners. While we can be a combination of the three, we all have a predominant learning style. Flashcards appeal to both visual and tactile learners. Visual learners are reading/seeing the terms and concepts, while tactile learners should be making their own flashcards.

The CFP® Certification Examination is one of the most difficult examinations in the financial services industry, therefore it is imperative to prepare for this exam with a rigorous review program. You may have heard from CFP® professionals they attended a four or five day review class to "bring it all together." Many will tell you that they could not pass without a review. But, what if there is no review class in your area or you do not want to be away from your office and home for an entire week? How can you get the benefits of a class without the costs and hassle? Our online review programs are your answer!
Online SchoolRoom is proud to offer a variety of review programs, provided by Keir Educational Resources, a 40 year old company with a long history of helping students pass the CFP® exam. We offer programs that include self study textbooks and other materials that you can use to prepare at your own pace, and a 32 hour online review course that includes text, audio, and interactive exercises. These materials are updated 3 times each year to reflect new laws that may be included in each examination administered by the CFP® Review Board.

About the CFP® Certification Examination
The CFP® Certification Examination is administered 3 times per year (typically in the third Friday and Saturday in March, July and November) in 50 major metropolitan areas throughout the US. The examination lasts 10 hours, and is divided into one 4 hour session on a Friday afternoon, and two 3 hour sessions on Saturday. Candidates who wish to take this exam must register and pay about 6 weeks prior to the exam.

You can apply for the CFP® Certification Examination after you have successfully completed an acceptable course of study (or its equivalent). The educational coursework requirement can be met in several ways, including completing a CFP Board-Registered Program, completing equivalent coursework subject to CFP Board's transcript review process, or having one of the designations, credentials or degrees pre-approved by CFP Board. Candidates for certification must have a bachelor's degree, in any discipline, in order to obtain CFP® certification, but this does not have to occur before sitting for the exam or fulfilling the work experience.
